This is by far one of the most frequently asked questions in our industry. The answer is “it depends.” It boils down to wear and tear.

We have some clients whose kitchen was remodeled over 10 years ago, and the cabinets look like they were installed last week. While we have seen other kitchens requiring touch-ups after just two years.

A painted finish is the best, as long as you take care of it. For one, it is not a good idea to let grease or grim build up on your cabinets, as that can hurt the finish over time. We recommend you clean with a mild detergent every few months. Maybe, make it part of your Spring and Fall cleaning!

Obviously, trash cabinets and silverware drawers take the most abuse as they are used quite often. For those, you may need more than a good scrub, and that’s where a touch up is recommended!

The good news with our finish, touch ups are really easy. Simply bring us a door or two and we can respray them at our facility, located in Marietta, Georgia. For a minimal price, we will get it looking like new again. No need to refinish your entire kitchen. Plus, we would love to see you again!

Bottom line… Even though we’re constantly improving our processes, and testing new products every month, until paint manufacturing companies come up with a “concrete finish,” you should expect some retouch work every now and then. Nothing that can’t be easily fixed and made to keep your kitchen looking like it too was installed last week!
