Are You Ready to Upgrade Your Kitchen?

We are often asked about options for upgrading a kitchen and some of the costs associated with updates. Good news! There are easy and economical ways to add value and functionality to your home.

If you like your current layout and your cabinets are in good shape, we definitely recommend refinishing. You can also add trim and inserts easily without much cost add-on.

Should Quarter Round Molding Match Kitchen Cabinets or the Floors?

As kitchen cabinet refinishers, we get asked this question quite frequently. There is no right or wrong answer and is more a matter of personal preference. What is quarter round? Also known as shoe or toe molding, it is used at the bottom of baseboards and cabinets to cover a small gap or uneven edge between the flooring and the baseboard.

However, if you are still not sure before getting your kitchen cabinets refinished, below is the list of scenarios and recommendations for each. In addition, the pictures below illustrate the different scenarios.

Refinish Vs. Reface

“At CCFF, our refinishing process is unparalleled. We take the necessary steps to ensure a high quality, long-lasting, factory-smooth finish. There are no short-cuts with CCFF.”
– Jenna Hill, CCFF owner

Cabinet Refinishing is taking your existing doors, drawers and cabinet boxes and either staining or painting them depending upon cabinet material. Refinishing requires extensive prep work (cleaning, sanding, priming, sanding again, painting and protective topcoat) whether you want your cabinets painted or stained a darker color.

Refinish Vs. Replace

“The average full kitchen remodel in Atlanta costs $30,000. Let our team REFINISH your cabinets at a fraction of the cost.”
– Jenna Hill, CCFF owner

So you have finally decided it’s time to renovate your kitchen. You like the layout of your kitchen and the cabinets are in good shape overall. However, the cabinet cabinet color (whether painted, stained or laminate) is outdated and you are ready for a change. Or perhaps you are considering selling your home and want to make the kitchen more appealing to potential buyers without spending an exorbitant amount of money. Well then your decision is very easy: REFINISH!
