From Dated & Busy to Bright & Elevated

This Alpharetta kitchen was ready for a refresh. The original space, though loved and well-used, felt visually heavy, weighed down by warm wood cabinetry, busy countertops, and a wet bar that lacked presence. The goal was clear: lighten and modernize the kitchen while creating a welcoming yet timeless space. A cohesive design, elevated finishes, and a timeless palette would guide this transformation, with plenty of opportunity to add warmth and character through lighting and architectural details.

A Well-Loved Kitchen Ready for a Refresh

Before the remodel, the kitchen leaned warm and traditional with aging cabinets, a busy marble countertop, and dated finishes. It functioned well, but felt anchored to another decade. The wet bar was practical yet understated, blending into the background instead of shining as a feature.

This kitchen transformation showcases how thoughtful updates can modernize a space while keeping its original layout intact. The original room’s glazed cabinetry, busy hexagonal backsplash and marble countertop, plus the burnt orange wall color made the space feel heavier and more enclosed. The transformed kitchen reveals a bright, streamlined space with off-white cabinetry, clean black hardware, and fresh quartz countertops paired with glossy white subway tile that instantly elevate the room. The addition of illuminated upper stacked cabinets adds height and elegance, while the under-cabinet lighting adds a layer of warmth to the overall design. The original appliances, still in great condition, were reused in the remodel.

The storage upgrade was a major part of this remodel. The clients’ original space offered some vertical storage options, but the lower cabinets relied on deep, fixed shelves that made it difficult to reach appliances and cookware tucked in the back. The new layout introduces a thoughtful redesign with full-extension drawers that bring everything into clear view, making daily tasks easier and far more efficient. Bulky items like mixers, slow cookers, and bakeware now have dedicated, easily accessible spaces, eliminating the clutter and frustration of digging through cabinets. The result is a cleaner, more intuitive workspace that makes the most of every inch of storage.

This section of the kitchen went from a busy, angled workspace to a cleaner, more functional layout. The original island had a raised bar that created visual clutter and limited usable counter space. In the updated design, the island has been leveled out into a single, smooth surface, making the space feel larger and more open while providing a much more practical work area. The new workstation sink enhances efficiency by centralizing tasks like prep, washing, and cleanup. Overall, the changes create a more modern, cohesive, and highly functional hub for cooking and gathering.

This wet bar remodel turned an underutilized nook into a beautifully polished feature of the home. The original setup felt disconnected, with mismatched cabinetry and limited functionality. In the new design, deep blue cabinetry, matching black hardware, and a rich, moody color palette create a striking focal point. The addition of a stylish, hexagonal backsplash and subtle under-cabinet lighting elevates the entire space, giving it both warmth and sophistication. With improved storage and a more intentional layout, the wet bar now feels like a seamless extension of the kitchen, perfect for coffee in the morning and entertaining in the evening.
