Marietta Home Remodel: Kitchen & Living Room

The Heart of the Home: Remodeling THE Kitchen and Living Room

This Marietta Home Remodel transformed the heart of the home—the kitchen and living room—into a timeless, functional space. With outdated cabinetry and a dated style, our clients came to us seeking a design that felt both modern and classic. They wanted something built to last for years to come. Their top priorities were increased storage and better appliance placement for improved functionality. The result is a kitchen that’s not only beautiful, but thoughtfully designed for the way they live.

Before & After: Kitchen and Living Room Transformation

Before the Marietta Home Remodel, the kitchen felt closed-in and dated. The two-level island broke up the space visually and functionally. Consequently, it limited usable surface area for both prep and casual dining. Storage was another major challenge; despite the wall of cabinetry, there simply wasn’t enough organized space to keep clutter at bay. The double oven, while useful, took up valuable real estate in a less-than-ideal location. This contributed to a layout that lacked flow. The overall color scheme—white cabinetry paired with speckled granite countertops—gave the kitchen a tired, early-2000s look. This look no longer matched the homeowners’ style or needs. The Marietta Home Remodel project aimed to address these issues comprehensively.

The original living room built-ins lacked the cohesion the homeowners were after. The shelving felt bright and disconnected from the rest of the space. Meanwhile, the mantle drew attention for all the wrong reasons—especially thanks to the heavy, gargoyle-like decor piece that had become an unintentional focal point. The overall look felt dated, falling short of the inviting, elevated atmosphere the clients envisioned for their main living area.

A NEW LOOK

We leveled and extended the island to create a seamless centerpiece for gathering and prep during the Marietta home remodel. Moreover, we added extra storage to keep the space clean and clutter-free. To further enhance both form and function, we installed under-cabinet lighting, which not only brightens the workspace but also adds a warm, inviting glow that elevates the entire kitchen’s ambiance.

One of the most impactful layout changes was swapping the double oven for a sleek, single range. This not only freed up valuable wall space but also helped streamline the kitchen’s overall design. The microwave, previously positioned too high to reach comfortably, was relocated to a more accessible lower cabinet—making everyday tasks easier and safer.

The new color palette—soft greige cabinetry paired with crisp white countertops and warm wood flooring—creates a timeless, modern-classic look that feels fresh yet enduring. Every design choice was made to balance beauty with everyday practicality, resulting in a space that’s as functional as it is stunning. See more updates below!
